04 Oct Press Release – Charlotte Clinic
Clinic opening offers new options, new resources, and a new source of hope for Charlotte families. Finding the right pediatric therapist can be a challenge. Fortunately, local parents of kids with therapy needs will soon have an exciting new resource at their disposal. Carolina Pediatric Therapy announced today that they will open the doors to their brand-new Charlotte location this October.
Based in Asheville, Carolina Pediatric Therapy is a well-loved, well-respected clinic known for offering a wide range of therapy options to address the complex needs of children and their families. The clinic prides itself on a community-focused, service-minded approach that relies on collaboration between different therapy experts, as well as families and caregivers to achieve whole wellness.
Current clinic locations span western North Carolina, including Asheville, Hendersonville, Waynesville and Brevard. While Carolina Pediatric Therapy currently offers community-based and in-house therapy in the Charlotte area, the opening of the Charlotte clinic marks its first brick-and-mortar expansion into southern/central North Carolina.
Upon opening, the Charlotte location will provide speech-language pathology and occupational therapy. Soon after, services will expand to include pediatric developmental physical therapy and behavioral health.
Founder Summer McMurry is excited to bring Carolina Peds to Charlotte:
“When I founded Carolina Pediatric Therapy over 16 years ago, I did so because I recognized that there was a significant lack of integrated therapy services for children in our region. The need was great, but those to provide the help were few. As an in-home pediatric speech therapist, the children I served had complex needs, and so did their families. I knew that I could not meet these needs on my own and felt a sense of responsibility to lessen barriers to care in our region.”
“It became my passion and calling to build a team of professionals who would work together as a unit, drawing from the expertise of one another to support and empower each child and family, and each other. Our endeavor was to lead in service to our community through its children and their families, and to do it in a way that had never been done before.”
“Sixteen years later, that is still the heart and soul of Carolina Pediatric Therapy. We consider it a precious and honored space to be invited into your child’s world, and into yours. We have served the communities of WNC and the Piedmont for over 16 years and are excited to bring the Carolina Peds experience to Charlotte! We welcome you to the Carolina Peds family!”
The Charlotte location will open in October in the Oakhurst Commerce Centre, located at 4412 Monroe Rd, Suite C. The clinic is currently accepting new patients for speech-language pathology and occupational therapy.
