Summer McMurry, MS, CCC-SLP: President and Co-Owner of Carolina Pediatric Therapy, Inc. Summer started Carolina Pediatric Therapy initially as Carolina Speech and Language in October of 2002 as a service provider out of her home and has expanded the practice to include not only Speech-Language Pathology, but also Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Specialized Instruction. Summer has experience working with interdisciplinary teams of PT, OT, and SLP in adult acute care and rehabilitation facilities and pediatric rehabilitation/habilitation settings. She has experience in neurological, genetic, and developmental disorders of communication, feeding, and swallowing. Summer is responsible for decisions regarding staff hiring and supervision, long-term strategic planning and financial decisions regarding Carolina Pediatric Therapy and continues to provide therapy in the homes of many of our families. |

Eric McMurry: Vice President and Co-Owner of Carolina Pediatric Therapy, Inc. After 6 years of business management and sales experience, Eric began working full-time in assisting with the administrative end of Carolina Pediatric Therapy. Eric is responsible for marketing, website design and consultation, long-term strategic planning and financial decisions. |

Ariana Cox: Billing/Insurance Administrator. She came to us after 6 years of service at First Citizen’s Commercial Banking and the birth of her baby girl. She has extended administrative experience and is responsible for billing, bookkeeping, and customer service. |

Shari Kendrick: Practice Manager. Shari came to us with previous experience in hospital registration/insurance filing and sales/customer service. She is responsible for new referral intakes, insurance prior authorizations, and general practice and office management. |

Maria Holquist, MS, ITFS-Cert.: Program Coordinator. Maria brings 10+ years of experience with typical/atypical development of young children in a variety of environments such as home-based teaching, daycare, baby-sitting, church nursery, and family. She graduated from Western Carolina University with a Masters in Family Consumer Science. Maria has worked with Carolina Pediatric Therapy for the past 3 years as an Early Interventionist for many of our children and families. In addition to her continued provision of specialized instruction, she has joined our administrative team with several roles including liaison to the Chidren’s Developmental Services Agency and quality assurance. |

Shana Hughes, MS, CCC-SLP: Originally from Shelby, NC, Shana received her Bachelor's of Science and Master's of Science Degree's from WCU in 2002 and 2004. She began working for CPT in June 2004. Her experience includes speech, language and oral motor treatment in pediatric in-home and preschool settings. Shana also holds Specialty Certification in Severe-Profound Disabilities and has extensive experience with implementing augmentative-alternative communication devices. |

Traci Higgins, MS, CCC-SLP: Originally from Brevard, NC, Traci received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Duke University in 1999. She latter earned her Master’s of Science Degree in Communication Disorders from WCU in 2003. Traci also holds specialty certification in severe-profound disabilities and autism. She also has experience with geriatrics, dysphagia, and auditory verbal therapy. Traci came to CPT in June 2006 after previously working in the public schools. |

Robin Lindsay, M.Ed, MS, CF-SLP: Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Robin received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Mount Holyoke College (1988), a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley College (1990), and a Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western Carolina University (2006). She is the mom of a toddler and has been working with young children as an educator and advocate for 16 years. |

Joanna Sellers, MS, CF-SLP: Originally from Northern California, Joanna received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Intercultural Child Development from Bethany College in 1998. She moved to Asheville in 1999 and received her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western Carolina University in 2006. Joanna has extensive experience working in early childhood developmental settings with diverse populations, including children with special needs and Autism. Joanna speaks Spanish and has a special interest in multicultural and bilingual therapy. |

Tina Harris, MA, CCC-SLP: Originally from Avilla, Indiana, Tina received a B.A. degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Indiana University in 2001. She then received her M.A. degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2003, also from Indiana University. Tina has had experience working with interdisciplinary teams consisting of physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, dietitians and applied behavioral analysts within hospital inpatient/outpatient units in Indiana and then in Chicago working for a pediatric private practice. She has had extensive experience with infants, toddlers and school age children with various disorders of communication and swallowing. She has had specialty training in the SOS feeding approach and PROMPT. Tina joined CPT in July 2007. |

Kristina Starnes, MS, CCC-SLP: Originally from Ozark, Arkansas, Kristina
received her B.S. degree in Communication Disorders from the University of
Arkansas in 2000. She then received her M.S. degree in Speech Language
Pathology in 2002 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in
Little Rock. During graduate school Kristina completed an assistantship at
Arkansas Children’s Hospital where she became interested pediatric feeding
and swallowing disorders while working in the Infant-Toddler Unit. After
graduate school Kristina followed up with her interest in feeding disorders
and worked at a pediatric dysphagia clinic in Raleigh for over 2 years. She
has extensive experience in evaluating and treating patients with various
pediatric oral motor and feeding delays including patients with Cerebral
Palsy, Autism, tube fed infants and children, very ‘picky’ eaters and
children with many sensory processing difficulties. Kristina has experience
being part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of pediatricians,
allergists, gastrointestinal specialists, nutritionists and other therapy
disciplines. Kristina joined CPT in March of 2008. |

Cammie Wilson, MA, CFY-SLP: Cammie is originally from Asheville, NC, and she is thrilled to be returning to the Western North Carolina area after receiving her Master's of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from UNC-Greensboro in May 2008. Her experience includes pediatric speech and language treatment in preschools, daycares, and homes. Cammie also has experience with accent modification and the treatment of voice disorders. |

Rebecca Wallace, MS, OTR/L: After her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from UNC-Chapel Hill, she was employed at the Asheville DEC (CDSA) and Governor Morehead Preschool, where she evaluated and treated children with sensory, physical, and visual disabilities. Rebecca has training in infant massage for special needs children, and extensive experience in home based services with families of children 0-3 years of age. Rebecca brings over 20 years experience to the CPT Team. |

Cassandra Cupp, OTR/L: Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Cassandra joined our team in January 2007. Cassandra received her Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from Concordia University in 1996. She has worked in a variety of settings including Early Intervention Programs, home and community settings, school systems, and the clinic setting with children birth through adolescence. Cassandra has extensive training in the NeuroNet Program, Therapeutic Listening and Samonas Sound Therapy. In addition, she has worked with children with a variety of diagnoses including Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, developmental delays, learning disabilities and neuromotor disorders. Cassandra is skilled in treating fine motor delays, handwriting, visual perceptual difficulties and sensory processing dysfunction. |

Alicia Correa, MA, OTR/L: Alicia joined our team in July of 2007 after moving to North Carolina with her family from New York City. During her 7+ years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, she worked in several pediatric therapy settings including home and community-based therapy, early intervention, preschool, and a school for children with multiple special needs. She has worked with a variety of disorders and has significant experience with sensory processing dysfunction. |

Casey St. Dennis, OTR/L: Casey moved to North Carolina in 2007 and joined the CPT team in Feb 2008. She received her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from California State University in 2000. She has worked her 7+ years with children, birth through 21 years, with various neuromuscular, orthopedic, and musculoskeletal issues, pre-maturity, syndromes and sensory disorders. Casey has also worked with adolescents and adults with mental health issues and physical disabilities. She has extensive experience with oral-motor and feeding treatment, using NDT and SI, splinting, adaptive equipment and home assessments for safety and equipment. She has training and is interested in incorporating alternative therapies such as myofascial release and craniosacral therapy. |

Katie Glibowski Parham, MPT: Originally from Holbrook, New York, Katie joined our team in September 2006. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise & Sport Science and Psychology from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill in 2003 and her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Western Carolina University in August 2006. Her experience includes pediatric clinical rotations in acute care, outpatient, and home health working with children from birth-18 years of age. Katie also spent a year in between undergraduate and graduate studies working with her nephew, who has special needs, back home on Long Island, New York. |

Kim Pittman, PT: Originally from Bakersville NC, Kim joined our team in November of 2006. She received her Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy in 1993 at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She has spent the past two and a half years working with children from birth to age 18 in a variety of settings. She specializes in neurological disorders and uses a neuro-developmental treatment approach. |

Sarah Nemeth-Brigman , ITFS, Early Childhood Interventionist: Sarah received her Bachelor of Science degree in Birth through Kindergarten Education from Western Carolina University in 2005. She also has a minor in Special Education of young children. She comes to us with experience in Autism and Cerebral Palsy. Over the past 4 years, Sarah has provided services in Daycare and Home based services with young children. |

Dana Myers, ITFS, Early Childhood Interventionist: Dana recently joined our team in October 2006. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Health Education from Kent State University in 2002. For the past few years she worked as the Assistant Director for Kindercare Child Development Center while living lived in St. Louis, Missouri. She comes to us with several years experience working with infants and toddlers and has a special interest in working with premature infants and their families. |

Kim Hunt, ITFS-P, Early Childhood Interventionist: Kim joined our team in July ’07. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, concentrating in Social Welfare, from UNC-Asheville in 2001. She is currently enrolled in graduate studies for Communication Sciences and Disorders through East Carolina University’s distance education program and is also studying Spanish at UNC-Asheville. She has extensive experience in working with teenagers, adults and families in the areas of crisis intervention and education. Kim speaks Spanish and has volunteered with various projects that serve children abroad. Kim is excited about the opportunity to apply her enthusiasm and skills to serving children and families in Buncombe and Haywood Counties. |

Margaret Moldovan, ITFS, Early Interventionist: Margaret received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. She worked as an Early Interventionist for three years in Texas before moving to Asheville. She speaks Spanish and has a certificate in American Sign Language Studies. She enjoys using sign language with children to facilitate their communication and relationships with caregivers. Margaret has a wide range of experience working with children ages birth to three through her work in Early Intervention. She joined our team in October' 07 and is excited about providing Early Intervention services to children in Buncombe County. |
