After obtaining her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from UNC-Chapel Hill, she was employed at the Asheville DEC (CDSA) where she was a member of the Assistive Tech team, and Governor Morehead Preschool, where she evaluated and treated children with sensory, physical, and visual disabilities. Rebecca has training in infant massage for children with special needs, and extensive experience in home-based services with families of children 0-3 years of age. She is a current and long term member of the Advisory Board of the Assistive Technology Resource Center (ATRC). Rebecca will complete her Certificate in Low Vision Rehabilitation at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in September 2009 and has a special interest in working with children with visual problems. Rebecca brings over 20 years experience to the CPT Team. She joined the Carolina Pediatric Therapy Team in September of 2004.
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Cassandra joined our team in January 2007. Cassandra received her Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from Concordia University in 1996. She has worked in a variety of settings including Early Intervention Programs, home and community settings, school systems, and the clinic setting with children birth through adolescence. Cassandra has extensive training in the NeuroNet Program, Therapeutic Listening and Samonas Sound Therapy. In addition, she has worked with children with a variety of diagnoses including Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, developmental delays, learning disabilities and neuromotor disorders. Cassandra is skilled in treating fine motor delays, handwriting, visual perceptual difficulties and sensory processing dysfunction.
Alicia joined our team in July of 2007 after moving to North Carolina with her family from New York City. During her 7+ years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, she worked in several pediatric therapy settings including home and community-based therapy, early intervention, preschool, and a school for children with multiple special needs. She has worked with a variety of disorders and has significant experience with sensory processing dysfunction.
obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from Tennessee State University in 1999, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1997 from University of Mississippi. She has 10 years of experience working in home settings with children and their families. Anna Blair holds OT Licenses in States of Hawaii, Tennessee, & North Carolina and is a National Board Certified and Registered OT. She has worked in early intervention/Pediatrics for 10 years. In that time, she gained experience working with various diagnoses such as; CP, Genetic Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Developmental Disabilities, Sensory Issues and Neurological Disorders. She joined the Carolina Pediatric Therapy team in May of 2008.
obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Health Promotion from Pennsylvania State University in 1995, and her Bachelor’s of science in Occupational Therapy in 2001 from Mount Aloysius College. She also holds minor degrees in Business Administration and Exercise Sports Science. Lori has worked as team and lead OT positions in skilled nursing, acute medical, and home health settings utilizing physical agent modalities, adaptive equipment and general rehab techniques to increase patient’s independence in natural home setting. She has also provided support within hospital setting of inpatient ICU, Telemetry, medical surgical and psychiatric units. Lori has Training in frailty, and is a member of AOTA and NCOTA, was an ASCOTA Conference Delegate, is a certified personal trainer, and is CPR Certified. Lori worked on the Carolina Pediatric Therapy team in 2006 treating children with developmental delays, sensory processing, fine-motor and visual perceptual delays. She has worked with children with a variety of diagnoses including Attention Deficit Disorder, developmental delays, learning disabilities and neuro-motor disorders. Lori re-joined the Carolina Pediatric Therapy team in March 2009.
Sarah moved to Asheville to join the Carolina Peds team in September 2009. She received her Masters in occupational therapy from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2007. She began working at a private practice in Greenville, SC, where she worked with children and adults with various needs. She served children of all ages, the majority of which were under 3. Sarah currently has over 1 1/2 years clinical experience, mostly in pediatrics. Sarah loves working with children and has experience with a variety of diagnoses, including sensory processing disorder, Down syndrome, Autism, global developmental delay, cerebral palsy, ADHD, and fine motor coordination delays.
