Raising children is full of uncertainties, especially with the internet and social media making us doubt each of our decisions. A task as basic and important as feeding your own family should not contribute to these doubts.
Feeding Your Family is a 5-week nutrition series that will cover all the sticky topics you might encounter feeding your family, from birth through the teen years and everything in between. Topics include introducing solids, preventing and feeding picky eaters, the social impacts around eating for teens and decoding sports nutrition. Our intentionally small class sizes will allow parents/caregivers to seamlessly transition between learners and support givers, depending on experience on each topic. Each class will include an informal presentation on the week’s topic, plus plenty of time for discussion and questions.
Class 1 – March 5
Introduction to authoritative feeding and creating a division of responsibility with family members, Andra Sylvanus, Registered Dietitian.
Class 2 – March 12
Discuss the needs of the infant, introducing solid foods, and starting out feeding on the right foot; special guest Catherine Rhodarmer, Speech-Language Pathologist.
Class 3 – March 19
