Building Resilience with Large Body Size

How to Combat and Prevent Challenges related to large body size.

Date: February 12, at 6:00 PM in our Asheville Clinic.

A free class open to the public designed to empower parents and older children/teens to develop habits that help combat and prevent challenges related to large body size. Our non-diet approach focuses on family structure, coping skills, and promoting a positive sense of self. We will also help explain the pediatric growth curve and what research shows about large body size and health.

Come out to Carolina Pediatric Therapy to participate in this topic presented in our Parent Education Night series, led by our knowledgeable Dietitian/Nutritionist and Behavioral Health Therapist! We will be providing some light snacks and refreshments!

We will be discussing and reviewing:

  • Intuitive Eating and learning to read your body’s cues of hunger and fullness
  • Awareness of boredom or emotional eating
  • How to make family meals work for you
  • Videos of real families interacting at meals
  • What the research says about weight and chronic illness
  • Building emotional resilience

We look forward to seeing you there!
