Playdough Letters

SKILL AREAS ADDRESSED:

- Bilateral Coordination
- Fine Motor
- Sensory Processing (tactile and proprioception)
- Visual Perception
- Early learner skills (alphabet/spelling)
  
  MATERIALS NEEDED:
- Play dough  
  *If you don't have play dough you can use.
- String or Yarn
- Floam or Putty
  
  **ACTIVITY STEPS:**  
  **1)** Using two hands, roll play dough into long and short sticks.** **  
  **2)**Form letters to spell words, your child’s name, shapes, etc.
  
  **ACTIVITY TIPS:**
- Write out letters (3-4” tall) on a paper first for kiddo to put playdough on top of if the task is too challenging for your child.
- Have your child trace over the playdough letters with their finger once complete to increase memory and teach proper writing form (i.e. start from top, etc.)
