Theresa Sabo, COTA, Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Graduate of Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. I first knew I wanted to work with children when my own child with developmental and cognitive disabilities was going to see an occupational therapist. His occupational therapist not only helped my son but also improved my understanding of my son, enabling me to be a more proactive and understanding mother. Skills I hope to share with other parents. My experience includes Beckman Oral Motor (providing oral input to improve oral motor control and decrease sensitivity), iLs (a listening program for improving auditory processing, balance, motor planning/coordination, and a host of additional sensory/motor issues, research Integrative Listening Systems for more), Astronaut Training ( assists in balance, oculo motor control, and improved tolerance of movement), background in working with children who have experienced trauma/neglect, children who have developmental delays, children with cerebral palsy, and children with genetic disorders affecting growth and development. I love working with children because children are where the future begins. Affirming a child's being with good listening and providing them with supportive opportunities for developing physically, mentally, and emotionally enables growth into more healthy adults who will hopefully have a positive affect on the world and the future of the human race. I love helping to raise adults. I have been with Carolina Peds since 2013. Carolina Peds allows me to fulfill my vocation of service to children and their families.
