Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person sessions?

Yes, virtual therapy is equally as effective as an in-person session. The only difference is we will be delivering the same care and interaction with you and your child through your computer screen. Think of it as if you were sitting in the therapy room with the therapist and you are watching, observing and learning and taking those activities home. Remember the progress that our kids make typically is what happens in our therapy session one hour a week its really enhanced by what you do at home between the therapy sessions. Parent Coaching will be used just as we would in an in-person therapy session.

If your child is a younger child, we will be doing a lot more coaching through you, you are going to be our eyes, ears, hands we will help you complete the activities in the therapy session. We will also help you problem solve those challenges you might have at home.

During this time where it is safer for us to do the therapy sessions virtually please know the care we provide to your child is going to be the same effective care as if it were in person. We have found that the children who have completed the virtual sessions are very engaged.
If you have any questions please reach out to your therapist.
Thank you and we look forward to working with you virtually!

Is my child too young for virtual therapy?

For infant and toddlers, the good news is the best practice for care is the Parent Coaching model, which we utilize at Carolina Pediatric Therapy. The parent works right alongside with the therapist learning the activities and strategies for you to work with your child in between the therapy sessions. You will be our eyes, ears and hands working with you and your child. We will also interact with your child through the computer screen. We will also be able to see any new challenges that have arisen for you during this time and help coach you through it. For infants, toddlers and young children this is a great method and it is the same effective treatment of care just delivered virtually.

Please reach out to your therapists and get those virtual appointments on the calendar so your child can continue to make progress and prevent regression of skills.

We look forward to helping you in any way we can during this time.
Thank you and we look forward to working with you virtually!

Is my child at risk of regression?

No, your child will not be at risk of regression by using virtual therapy. While we are going through COVID-19 we want to protect your family by offering therapy virtually and want your child to continue to make progress and to prevent regression of skills.
