What are the activities of daily living for children?

Activities of daily living are also considered to be the self-care skills that we use every single day. These skills are dressing, eating, self-feeding, toileting, hygiene, bathing, grooming, sleep, rest, and functional mobility. As infants, children need assistance with almost all activities of daily living but will progressively become more independent as they age. OT can address these skills with children who may have difficulty with these skills to provide strategies and tools to help increase their success and independence with their self-care.
